Do you need anything else? It's no Blades of Steel (hell EA's NHL09 isn't Blades of Steel), but growing up in Minnesota and playing on a hockey team ensured that this one was in the NES as much as Super Mario 3. I think I've got the same fond memory for this one as everyone else does: skinny dude, medium dude, and fat dude. The only game that ended up rivaling this excellent design was Konami's Blades of Steel, but the two were different enough to own and enjoy both (which is why you'll find Blades on this countdown). Every Ice Hockey player discovered their own perfect combination of men, and then it was on to the ice. You could choose from three different player body types, and outfit your team with any combination of them fast but weak Skinny Guys, brawny but slow Fat Guys, or well-balanced, middle-ground Normal Guys. This game of skating and slap shots was perfectly balanced, simple fun with just the right touch of planning and strategy to keep things interesting match after match. None of those games ended up having the lasting appeal and addictiveness of one of its other contemporaries, though – the first-party Nintendo sports sim known simply as Ice Hockey. Nintendo had a fairly diverse lineup of sports titles introduced for the NES early on in the system's life cycle, including 8-bit interpretations of soccer, tennis, volleyball and even downhill slalom skiing. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game They also offer a membership program with reduced prices if you come here often.Skate or Die 2: The Search for Double Troubleīattletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate TeamĪ Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia I would definitely come back if I lived here. There is also an area to play paintball, but we did not try it. They are on a screen outside the game area. You will be able to see the totals only once you finish the match. If you hit someone, the vest will tell you "good job" and you will score some points. You then will have 5 seconds to seek cover before your vest becomes active again. If you get hit, your vest with turn off the lights and makes a powering down sound. The place is not completely dark and there are some Wood's lights and some flood lights. There is also loud music playing so that can't hear other people moving. You have 10 minutes to hit the opponents as much as you can and score more points. They give you a vest that has sensors in the front, back and shoulders and a gun connected to it that you need to hold with both hands or it won't shoot. This is a classic one with a game area on two floors and obstacles like in a labyrinth. And I also wished the prices were cheaper. I just wish it was longer though and there were some qualification laps before the actual race, instead there was no qualification laps and we raced as soon as we got the ok to go. I asked to have a race suit to avoid smelling like exhaust fumes after the race, but they said it was not necessary. They then give you a helmet, a thick neck band to protect your neck in case of hit and a head cover to use under the helmet. Before racing they do a briefing explaining the different flags that they can use. The vehicles have protections around the wheels, so that in case of accident you don't damage the kart itself. I think their engines are fun and fast enough for a small track. Before anything, they will ask you to register on a computer and sign a liability waiver.
